The Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability has a vacancy for a Natural Resource Specialist IV in the Watershed Restoration Section. The position serves as a supervisor for design and implementation of stream restoration and water quality improvement projects. The position provides senior management for project watershed assessments, selection/prioritization, funding, budget, design, construction, and compliance/performance monitoring. The position serves as a spokesperson for the section, conveying the motivation and scientific underpinnings of our stream restoration projects to various stakeholders.

NIH's National Cancer Institute Seeks Partner On New Water Monitoring Technology
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has developed a novel high-throughput assay for the detection and monitoring of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in water sources. They are now looking for partners that may be interested in licensing and commercializing this technology and helping protect the public from EDC contaminated water sources.

The Groundwater Committee has restarted after a period of inactivity. Current committee members include representatives from government (federal, state and county), private industry and academia. The committee is interested in broadening its representation.
