Here, where the pathway ends and a boardwalk begins, you will discover you are on a peninsula, the garden’s representation of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Loblolly pines and bayberries are featured along the boardwalk along with sand dunes at the water’s edge. The dunes are stabilized with snow fences and beach grasses.

At the end of the boardwalk is a sundial. If it’s not too cloudy, try to tell the time using the sundial and see how accurate it is.
