From the mountains of Western Maryland to the sandy beach of Assateague, the Maryland Park Service is proud to offer wonderful o​pportunities for all our guests to enjoy. Create a vacation to remember with our family campfire programs, special events and festivals, statewide programming opportunities, and much more.

School groups are also welcome and a great way to bring classroom curriculum to life. There is always something for everyone at a park near you.

Create Your Own State Park​​

Creating your own state park at your home can provide a place to enjoy the outdoors, see more birds and butterflies, try new activities and have plenty of fun!

Junior Rangers

Kids ages 7 - 14 years can become a Junior Ranger and learn about nature, stewardship and recreational fun.

Discovery Packs

Parks throughout the state are providing "free-to-borrow" backpacks loaded with gear to make your adventure unforgettable. Pick up your pack and enjoy the contents as you travel the forests and fields of the park.

Scales and Tales

Scales & Tales, an environmental education program, provides the opportunity to see wildlife up close.

Park Quest

Your family can visit Maryland State Parks and kayak, hike and complete quests throughout the summer.

Maryland Conservation Jobs Corps (CJC)

The Maryland Conservation Jobs Corps (CJC) works in partnership with community youth organizations to provide conservation service opportunities for youth in Maryland State Parks. The CJC is a unique summer program where you’ll be part of a team working to conserve and restore Maryland State Parks.

Maryland Conservation Corps (MCC)

This is an award-winning AmeriCorps program that engages young adults in extensive natural resource management and park conservation projects. The mission of the program is to provide both skills training and opportunities for young adults to serve Maryland's conservation needs.

Veterans Conservation Corps (VCC)​

Maryland’s Veterans Conservation Corps (VCC) is a program modeled after the Maryland Conservation Corps.

Es Mi Parque

A program organized and managed by department staff and volunteers, aims to provide information and services to Spanish-speaking patrons and visitors in an effort to increase awareness of boating, fishing and water safety as well as state conservation laws and regulations.

Healthy Parks, Healthy People

"Healthy Parks, Healthy People" encourages physical activity in parks in western Maryland and Caroline County.​

Volunteers provide enthusiasm, energy and creativity to the wide variety of tasks they accomplish. Volunteers experience many benefits -- among them companionship, a sense of responsibility and enhanced skills. There is an opportunity for everyone!
