Directions and Parking Information
The Department administers an in-person examination at the Tawes State Office Building in Annapolis ten times per year, typically on the second Wednesday of each month, except in June and August.
Please note that your application and all required verification must be completed and approved before an exam date will be provided to you.
Once the application is verified, you will receive your scheduled exam date. Check-in begins approximately 15 minutes before the exam start time. Upon arrival, please sign in at the lobby front desk. A valid driver’s license or other photo identification is required.
Exams begin at 9:00 am. No one will be admitted after the session has started.
The exam has ten weighted sections or domains. The questions are in multiple choice formats. A passing score of 70% is required for each individual domain, as well as for the overall test. There are 140 questions, 14 in each domain. No reference information may be used during the examination session.
Upon completion of the exam, examinees will be provided with a report that advises whether they passed or failed any domain taken as well as whether they passed or failed the overall exam.
