Off Road Vehicles

A variety of off-road vehicle(ORV) types are permitted only on the trail sections that are blazed green. These areas include Snaggy Mountain Road, Burkholder Road and Wallman Road. Riders should consult ORV maps and regulations for each state forest. Trails for offroad vehicles, (E-Bikes, ORV's and snowmobiles) are available in both Potomac and Garrett State Forests. Off-road vehicles must be registered annually with the Department of Natural Resources(DNR) and display a registration sticker. Permits are available online at the DNR's portal, MD OUTDOORS​, from any DNR Regional Service Center​, or​ a State Forest headquarters.
