2015 Maryland State Wildlife Action Plan Revision

Maryland 2015 Revision

Maryland Department of Natural Resources’ Natural Heritage Program of the Wildlife and Heritage Service led the first State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP) revision. The 2015 SWAP includes updated mapping resources, refined conservation threats such as climate change, a more substantial emphasis on invertebrates, and the inclusion of plant species of concern. The revision also is integrated into a larger regional effort and provides more applicable and effective conservation actions to ensure the best conservation decisions are made and implemented for Maryland’s wildlife and their habitats.
