Snakes on the Dundee,
Gunpowder Falls State Park
held on June 26 at Dundee Creek Marina:

The results of this event were:​​

  • Number of Participants: 142
  • Number of Snakehead caught: 18 
  • Biggest Fish in the 18 and older group: 9.14 lbs caught by Andrew Donahue
  • Biggest Bag in the 18 and older group: 4 fish for a total of 16.66 lbs
    caught by Kyle Barney
  • Biggest Fish in the 17 and under group: 7.36 lbs caught by Jake Prior
  • Biggest Bag in the 17 and under group: 3 fish for a total of 8.04 lbs
    caught by Ronald Douran


Our sponsors were Time Out for Sports, Intercoastal Marine of Maryland, West Marine, and Harley Davidson, they donated all the top prizes and some of the door prizes. Many thanks to the Maryland Park Service for donating four park passes for our top winners.

​​The Purpose of this Snakehead Fishing Derby was:

  • Raise awareness about snakeheads.​
  • Remove any snakeheads that are caught.​
