Daniels Dam Fish Passage Project
Main_Content

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is working with American Rivers to conduct a Feasibility Study of the Daniels Dam on the Patapsco River. Daniels Dam is upstream of three previous dam removals on the Patapsco— Union Dam (2010), Simkins Dam (2011), and Bloede Dam (2018). American Rivers was awarded a grant of $1.78 million in May 2024 to conduct a feasibility study on behalf of DNR. The study will include sediment sampling, biological sampling, hydrological studies, and analysis of current site conditions. This work is expected to begin in early 2025 and extend through 2026.
