Hunting at St. Clement’s Island State Park

This hunting area requires the Free Public Hunting Permit (available on COMPASS). All local, state, and federal laws apply. The Maryland Guide to Hunting and Trapping is available online here. Hunting access is permitted from 1.5 hours before sunrise until 1.5 hours after sunset, unless stated otherwise.
St. Clement’s Island Deer and Small Game Hunting
- Approximately 42 acres are open for hunting in St. Clement’s Island State Park.
- Hunting on the island is permitted for deer and small game.
- Deer hunting is restricted to archery only. All legal weapons may be used for small game.
- Daily reservations are required and are made through the Myrtle Grove Wildlife Office by calling 301-743-5161 during office hours.
- A maximum of 4 hunters are permitted each day for deer or small game.
- Deer and small game hunting is permitted during legal hunting seasons from the opening day of rabbit season through the end of February. No hunting is permitted prior to the opening day of rabbit season.
- St. Clement’s Island SP is boat access only.
- The public land Big Game Check-in Code for St. Clement’s Island SP is 610.
St. Clement’s Island Waterfowl Hunting Zone
- Waterfowl hunting is allowed in the designated Waterfowl Hunting Zone.
- The Waterfowl Hunting Zone encompasses the entire tidal shoreline of the island and expands out to 300 yards from shore.
- The Free Public Hunting Permit is required to hunt the Waterfowl Hunting Zone, but no daily reservations are required.
- Hunters must remain at least 250 yards from any licensed stationary blind, blind site, or another person/party hunting waterfowl.
- The Waterfowl Zone is open for all legal waterfowl seasons.
- St. Clement’s Island SP is in the Atlantic Population Zone for Canada Goose.
- The Island is boat access only.
