The 1 1/4 mile hiking trail through an old growth forest passes by several waterfalls including Muddy Creek Falls, the highest waterfall in Maryland.
This hiking trail connects Swallow Falls and Herrington Manor State Park through the Garrett State Forest. The 5.5 mile trail is also accessible for mountain biking.
ALERT: Due to staffing shortages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the park currently has no lifeguards on staff and swimming is at at your own risk. Food concessions, bike, kayak and canoe rentals are also currently unavailable.
Fat Tire Mountain Bike Rentals now available year round. $10 an hour or $26 a day. Great for trails and snow!
