Dry, windy conditions have increased fire risk across the state and fueled ongoing wildfires
Annual submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) surveys at New Germany Lake are conducted to study and prevent the spread of invasive species in Maryland’s lakes and waterways. Park guests can help do their part to prevent potential growth of non-native plants by cleaning swimwear and boating gear before and after entering the lake. Park visitors can read the park's SAV reports in a PDF format that requires Adobe Reader. To get the free Adobe Reader go to Adobe.com.
