Driving Directions:
From Baltimore, MD:
From Interstate 70 west towards Hancock, Maryland. Take Interstate 68 west, (left exit) to Exit 19, 495 south to Swanton. Turn right to stay on 495. Continue onto 135 for about 5 miles then take a left on to Gorman Street. Turn right onto 560 at stop sign. Continue on 560 for 2 miles, then make a left onto Bethlehem Road. In about 1 mile Bethlehem road eventually veers right, stay straight onto what becomes Eagle Rock Rd. At the stop sign make a right onto Upperman Road. In about 1.5 miles the campground entrance will be on the left immediately before North Hill Road. To Huckleberry Rocks area make a left turn onto North Hill Road. In about 1 mile the park entrance will be ahead on the right. (continue straight about 3 miles to find the North Hill Area entrance on your left. Continue another 2 miles past the North Hill Area entrance and make a right at the stop sign onto Shallmar Road. At the end of Shallmar Road you will arrive at the Potomac River Area entrance).
From Washington, DC:

Take Interstate 68 east to Maryland Exit 4, Friendsville. Follow Route 42 South 8 miles, follow Route 219 South through Oakland, and at the traffic light after travelling through town make a left onto Oak St towards Route 135, Maryland Highway. In about 1.5 miles turn right onto Route 560, cross the railroad tracks, Route 560 veers left at intersection. In about 2 miles make a left onto Bethlehem Road. In about 1 mile Bethlehem road eventually veers right, stay straight onto what becomes Eagle Rock Rd. At the stop sign make a right onto Upperman Road. In about 1.5 miles the campground entrance will be on the left immediately before North Hill Road. To Huckleberry Rocks area make a left turn onto North Hill Road. Hunting Policy:
Wolf Den Run State Park is one of Maryland’s many state parks that allow public hunting during all seasons. Be alert and respectful of trail users who are recreating in the area. Hunting licenses can be purchased online (https://dnr.maryland.gov/pages/service_license.aspx) or at the Park Office.
- General hunting permitted on 1,986 acres including Huckleberry Rocks Area, Potomac River Area and North Hill Area.
- Hunters may enter/remain on park property outside of the regular posted hours if they are engaged in legitimate, authorized hunting activity; however, the park gates are open at 9AM and locked at 4PM (November 1 – March 31) & 6PM (April 1 – October 31). Parking outside of the gates in designated areas is recommended.
- Hunting permitted Monday-Saturday.

- Trail users are encouraged to wear bright colors and stay on trails during hunting seasons.
- Deer check code for this area is 229.
- No motorized use allowed during the annual deer firearms season (two weeks beginning the first Saturday after Thanksgiving). The park remains open for walk- in hunting and non-motorized use.
