  • What is the First Responders Discounted Annual State Park Pass?
    It is a $40 discount on the annual Park Pass for law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, and all those who serve the public in crisis situations. With this discount, passes will be $35, not $75.
  • Are all first responders eligible, or just Maryland first responders?
    Just first responders who are Maryland residents. This does not include first responders who work in Maryland and live in neighboring states.

  • How will we determine who is eligible?
    First responders will be required to present their respective identification cards or any other documentation to indicate their eligibility as both first responders AND Maryland residents.
  • When does the program begin?
    June 1, 2023.
  • Where can the First Responders Discounted Annual Park Pass be purchased?
    In parks that currently sell passes and on the online store here: shopdnr.com
  • How should payments for the First Responders Discounted Annual Park Pass be processed?
    The same way as other park passes. And the passes must be purchased by the person who will be using the pass. Gifts are not permitted with the first responders discount.
  • How will the First Responders Discounted Annual Park Pass be fulfilled after purchase?
    If purchased in-person, they will receive their pass at the time of purchase. If purchased online, the procedure will be the same at the Golden Age Pass…Tawes staff will review the documentation and then fulfill the pass via USPS.
  • Does the First Responders Discounted Annual Park Pass look different than the regular pass?
    No. It is the same pass. ​
