Location

The Schaeffer Farm Tract is located in Seneca Creek State Park and is bordered by Schaeffer Road, Black Rock Road, Little Seneca Creek and Seneca Creek.

Seasons Open

The Schaeffer Farm Tract is open for deer hunting only during the deer firearms seasons, November 28-December 12, 2020 and January 8-10, 2021.

Hunting Devices Allowed

Shotgun or straight-walled cartridge rifle.

Permits

A $35 DNR Managed Hunt Permit is required for this area and may be obtained online through your COMPASS account or in person at any license vendor. Information concerning the permit is in the hunting guide as well as online. A Central Region Public Hunting Permit is also required and may be obtained online or through the mail from the Gwynnbrook Wildlife Office.

  • Reservations for the opening day of deer firearms season are by lottery. See the packet that accompanied your Central Region Permit for applications and instructions.
  • After the opening day of deer firearms season a daily reservation is required. Reservations are made through the Gwynnbrook Wildlife Office at 410-356-9272.
