Cardinal Picnic Area

Cardinal Picnic Area is located just off the main park road, but provides a private escape due to the surrounding vegetation. This picnic area has a small field for group activities or sports, picnic tables to seat a maximum of 100 people, and private restrooms. There is no pavilion or shelter overhead. There are several shade trees located in the picnic area for sun protection. Parking for 35 vehicles is available, with one handicap parking space close to the pavilion. Drinking water is available from a fountain. Amplified music is not permitted.

Other amenities include a horseshoe pit, and trails leading to the boat center, recycled tire playground and Lakeshore Trail.

Daily rental cost (8:00 am - sunset): $46.75
-- Base rate does not include transaction or other applicable fees.
-- The pavilion rental charge does not cover park entrance fees for renters or their guests. Prepaid tickets are available at the Park Office if purchased and distributed to guests in advance.
-- A $35 alcohol permit must be purchased with the picnic area reservation, at least 1 day prior to arrival, to allow the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
