Picnicking and Pavilions
Rocks features three developed picnic areas: Hills Grove, Wilson's and Rock Ridge. These areas include tables, grills, restroom facilities and playground equipment. The Hills Grove and Wilson's areas are handicapped accessible. Pets are permitted in any of the picnic areas, but must remain on a leash while in the park. Horses are prohibited inside the picnic areas.
Hours of Operation: 9 a.m. to sunset, March-October, 10 a.m. to sunset, November-February
Service charge required: $3 per person Maryland resident, $5 per person out-of-state on weekends and summer holidays; $2 for Maryland vehicles, $4 for out-of-state vehicles on weekdays to enter the picnic areas. Park Passport holders, Universal Disability Pass holders, veterans, active duty military, seniors (with a Golden Age Pass) and children in car seats are free. Payment of the service charge is in cash only.
Each picnic area has a pavilion with lights (except Wilsons), electric outlets, a large barbecue pit and picnic tables.
Pavilions may be used by permit only. Each pavilion will accommodate approximately 120 to 150 people.

Picnic Area Rules and Important Information:
- No alcohol. Alcohol is ONLY permitted at the shelters and ONLY if an alcohol permit has been purchased at the time the reservation was made.
No amplified music.
- No moon bounces.
- This area is open from 9 a.m. to Sunset April – October and 10 am to Sunset November – March.
- Pets are permitted in this area year round and must be leashed at all times.
- Maryland State Parks are trash free. You must take your trash home with you when you leave.
The day use service charge for this area is:
Weekdays: Maryland residents: $2 per vehicle; Out-of-state resident: $4 per vehicle.
Weekends: Maryland residents: $3 per PERSON; Out-of-state resident: $5 per PERSON.
