Hunting
Public hunting is available at Elk Neck State Forest during current hunting seasons. Hunters must have a valid Maryland hunting license unless exempt under state law and must follow all applicable seasons, bag limits, weapon restrictions, fluorescent color requirements, and public land regulations.
Current statewide requirements are available in the
Guide to Hunting and Trapping in Maryland. Hunters should also review the
Elk Neck State Forest Trail Map before visiting, as public access and hunting opportunities vary by tract.
The Arboretum area includes managed hunting acreage, but safety zones have been established around the Arboretum Trail area and adjacent properties. Hunting is not permitted in areas marked as safety zones on the map or posted in the field.
