E-callers should be used soon are regular duck and ap goose season ends. Why are you waiting a week to start that up?

2 birds 45 days is a good season. Never understood why 5 birds would be allowed anywhere in the state. Call it late season but migratory birds are here on Nov 21st and still around on March 10th. If it is truly about the population 2 birds is plenty for any sportsman.

My only question about the more liberal Canada goose days and bag limit is we seem to go from very restrictive to more liberal then fall back to restrictive within a year or 2. I would consider a season that is projected to keep the resource at a certain limit for a 5 year term instead of the seesaw season and limits we have had over the past 7 years.

Remove the early September 3-September 17 hunt period and apply those hunting days to the end of the waterfowl season for ducks only . The western zone / southern Maryland have been experiencing devastating seasons in the recent seasons. The blind sites we receive through lottery system are generally visited by the Buffleheads which will be impacted by concentrated hunting as well as the sea duck populations. Any of the good duck species (scaup, canvasback and redhead ) show up in the tributaries like clockwork at the end of January . Thank you for this opportunity to share my opinion. MD hunter for over 50 years .

Take one week from us in January and give it to us in the second week of February for waterfowl season. Sunday hunting for the hard working man like you can out west.

Please consider shortening the middle October to November dove season and lengthen the December January season to align more with Delaware season. Very few people participate in the middle season due to other hunting opportunities.

great dates and bag limit on geese. 45 days and 2 Canada geese are wonderful, along with some dates in Nov.and some in Dec. when we won't freeze in our blinds and pits.thanks a lot.

Great work overall, managing the Migratory Game Birds. Due to current weather trends, the best waterfowl hunting occurs during the one week season in October and then not until the end of January. I suggest reducing some of the waterfowl hunting days in November and early December and adding a week in February. At the least, extend the AP goose season an additional few days (or a week) into February; as was the case in previous years; even if the duck season is not extended. Thank you!

I feel the first split would benefit hunters more if it was taken away and added onto the 3rd split.

I believe after traveling all over the state of maryland and seeing the number of Canadian Geese throughout the state I think the state should go with either a 3 or 5 bag limit per day per person. Between the group I hunt with we would encounter several problems this with having well over 100 birds trying to get into the spread and having to make sure we know how many we are allowed to kill even when it’s the first group of the day! it’s a lot of work setting out decoys and the time and money people spend just for some to be able to only shoot one bird a day is ridiculous!

Late season goose limit should be lifted from 1 to atleast 3 per person the amount of money that’s spent on licensing and hunting set up to be able to only shoot 1 bird per person while seeing hundreds everyday is ridiculous when every farmer I talk to is having issues with the amount of geese tearing up crops and we can’t do anything about it

I agree

Please go back to one antlerless in region A. This herd is in trouble...

"This section needs to be up-dated and PA & DE should be removed (i think they allow Sunday waterfowl Hunting) In the Atlantic Flyway States of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, where Sunday hunting is prohibited statewide by State law, all Sundays are closed to all take of migratory waterfowl (including mergansers and coots). "

The proposal is good. I like that duck and goose season are in alignment.

Please consider take days of the beginning of woodcock season and add to the end if January

I'd welcome a return to a 2 bird/45 day AP season.

I’m glad the proposed season is 45 days for goose hunting but can we take away the days around thanksgiving and add them to February

Please consider moving the January Woodcock season to December. TY

Like the idea of 45 days and 2 birds but geese are migrating later so why not 12/15 to 2/5 no birds here at thanksgiving

The October Eastern duck split is one week too early. Move it to Oct. 17-24. A reminder for others if you gonna complain then educate yourself first- September teal season is a bonus season, can't move it and it doesn't count against the other splits anyway. Duck season can't be moved into February per the federal framework. "

We need Sunday hunting and the season to not be shortened anymore . Any blue collar worker only gets the weekend off that’s puts more pressure on trying to get out and hunt no matter the weather. Most states have Sunday hunting . There is no explanation on why we don’t have it now . It would benefit us hunters so much and maybe we would not look to hunt other states.

Move the November Canada Goose season to either December, January, or the beginning of February.

Respond to written comments with rationale for agreement or disagreement.

Consider separating waterfowl season from Sika deer gun seasons. The density of hunters competing for different game is creating conflict and unsafe hunting conditions.

Please summarize publicly changes in regulations that have resulted from public comments and/or questions.

Has the liberal AP Canada goose season of 60 days and three birds in the Chesapeake region been removed as an option for these states?

The Atlantic Flyway Council particularly the representatives from the Chesapeake Region need to impress upon all that the populations of all Canada Geese in the flyway are to be managed with equal measures.

What are the results of studies, if any have been done, to determine the kill ratio of hunters on waterfowl and how they affect the reduction of population when there is an influx of hunters to states that offer more liberal seasons within a flyway or across flyways?

How has the state's financially supported agricultural maneuver to replace grains such Rye, Barely, Wheat as a cover crop with tubulars such as Oil Seed Radish reduced the availability to and subsistence of over wintering waterfowl?

Thanks for giving the public the opportunity to comment and for your reflection and consideration of these comments.

As you ponder how to create a more inviting hunting atmosphere in Maryland for hunting, please put the most weight on the viewpoints shared by the recreational licensed MD resident.

Take away some of the days for Goose and duck days in the early part of the season and move into the first & second week of February.. Two geese per day is the correct limit. Thank you

Migrating Canada geese. 2 geese daily limit with 45 day season. States close to us and north to us higher limits in certain seasons and longer seasons. Pa. has 52 days, WV has 72 days, includes Sunday hunting all season. Same migrating birds
