Boating Safety

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Thank you for your interest in classroom instruction for Maryland’s Safe Boating Course. Please continue to check these listings during the year as many of our instructors are still very cautious and concerned about COVID-19 so, these classroom courses may be very limited until instructors feel that in-person instruction is safe to implement.​​


  • MD Safe Boating Course - ​USCGAux Flotilla 24-08

    Successful completion of the sessions and passing the test will earn a NASBLA certificate to operate a boat with a motor in Maryland. This class is free to Auxiliarists, BSA Scouts, Sea Scouts and Scout leaders. This course or a similar course is also required to earn BQ status in the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

  • ​ Online Live Class State Approved Maryland Boating Safety Course – June​ 25th and 26th 2022 - ​This course satisfies the requirements for operating a vessel on Maryland waters and a Certificate of Boating Safety Education is issued upon satisfactory completion. More information.​​
