Tree-Mendous Maryland

“…helping Maryland plant trees on public lands since 1989.”

Tree-mendous logo

TREE-MENDOUS MARYLAND, a program of the Maryland Forest Service, remains one of our most popular programs aimed at helping citizens restore tree cover on public land and community open space in Maryland. To date, we have assisted more than 3,000 towns and communities, parks, and schools planting trees and shrubs to help clean the water, clean the air, and keep our towns and cities inviting, livable, and environmentally viable places to live.

Tree-mendous Maryland’s goal is to help Maryland residents have access to affordable trees to plant on their public lands. With permission from land owners, volunteers can plant trees at schools, in state and community parks, local open space, street trees and more. Gather your friends, scout troop or classmates and plant a tree today to clean your air, clean your water and beautify your home town!

Clear Ridge Nursery partners with Tree-mendous to provide you quality trees. They have three free delivery locations where you can pick up the trees you ordered. The locations are:

  • Green Ridge State Forest 09/25 @10am
  • Tuckahoe State Park 10/03 @10am
  • Cedarville State Forest 10/10 @10am

When using the Tree-mendous order form, please select one of these three pickup locations to utilize the free delivery service. Please come to the pick up location with tarps and vehicles large enough to safely transport the trees.

Trees on Public Land

The Tree-Mendous order form is an agreement between a whole sale nursery and our program to provide quality native trees to be planted on public land. The hope is to assist local governments and community groups plant trees at a reduced cost to benefit every Marylander.

Tree-Mendous provides free delivery to three locations across the state each Spring and Fall, in order to reduce planting cost further. Groups can also pay for delivery directly to their site for an additional fee.

Gift of Trees

Give an Environmental Gift

Have native trees planted in Honor or Memory of family and friends, to celebrate Holidays, birthdays, and to observe other special occasions. Your Gift of Trees is actually three gifts - one to someone you care for, one to future generations, and one to the environment. TREE-MENDOUS MARYLAND will arrange for the trees to be planted in Maryland in the county in which the recipient of the certificate lives

You may purchase the Gift of Trees at $40.00 for each tree. A grove of ten trees at $400.00 lets you decide where you would like to have the trees planted. A beautiful certificate, suitable for framing, is sent to the recipient announcing your Gift.

Order Trees Online treemendous_button5.gif

Please note:

A certificate will be issued and mailed out within a week of your order. Tree planting projects supported by this program take place during the next appropriate growing season – either spring or fall – to promote growth and survival.

Plantings generally occur on public lands and community spaces in areas of greatest need. While we focus on planting within Maryland, specific planting sites are based on project priorities and may not be identifiable for each individual gift.

Tree species are selected based on what will flourish at each planting site. We focus our efforts on areas that will benefit the most, including cities and towns, parks, playgrounds and schoolyards, and along creeks and streams.

Fill in a separate order form for each Gift of Trees recipient. Each $40 contribution supports the planting and care of native trees; you may make multiple contributions or recognize multiple recipients.

To make sure we have enough time to process and mail your certificate in time for the upcoming holidays, please place your order at least one week before the date you would like the certificate to arrive.
