7.5 miles- moderate- off-road cycling, hiking, snowmobiling
Margraff Plantation trail is in the Accident area of Savage River State Forest. This trail is a series of circuit, gravel roads which provide less technical hiking and biking opportunities, while more advanced cyclists can test their skills on challenging single-track trails. The elevation is 2800 feet and visitors enjoy splendid views all year long. Sections of this trail are available for snowmobile riding.
8 miles- difficult- off-road cycling, hiking, snowmobiling
Bowman Hill trail is located off I-68, Exit 19 traveling south approximately 7 miles to Dung Hill Road. Dung Hill Road turns into Bowman Hill Road and the trail is a short distance. This uneven terrain and stream crossings make this very challenging for mountain bikers and hikers. During the winter months, snowmobiling is available on this trail system.
Note: Margraff campsites must be paid for at Headquarters Kiosk.
