Bird Watching - Stoney Demonstration Forest

Stoney Demonstration Forest has two large forested tracts in southern Harford County, and bird watching opportunities are available along the forest’s trails. Previous observations have found Scarlet Tanager (Piranga olivacea), and more recently nineteen other bird species, including Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (Sphyrapicus varius), Pileated Woodpecker (Dryocopus pileatus), Brown Creeper (Certhia Americana), and Hermit Thrush (Catharus guttatus).​​​
