Edison Lee of Rockburn Elementary School took first place this year's 5th Grade Arbor Day Poster Contest 2024 with his amazing artwork! He is accompanied by his parents in front of a beautiful Eastern Redbud tree that he planted with the help of Tree Planting Specialist, Dylan Orr of the Maryland Forest Service and Bill Mahoney of Howard County's Office of Sustainability. Edison was full of enthusiasm to learn the importance of trees, how to plant them properly, and the positive impact he made to his community and school. When we finished planting he said: "Wow, that was a lot of work. Can we plant more?"
Truly a TreeMendous inspiration.
