Mountain Maryland Trout Cakes

​​Directions​

Fully cook and debone trout trying to keep the meat in large chunks. In a large bowl, mix egg, parsley, mayonnaise, mustard, bread crumbs and Old Bay. Gently mix in your trout. Shape the mixture into patties, and fry the patties in butter until golden brown on both sides.

  • 1lb fully cooked trout (about 3 12” rainbows)
  • 1 large egg
  • butter for frying
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • & (because it is Maryland) 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning

Serving Suggestions

Garnish with lemon and serve with your favorite pasta and vegetable!
