Real Property Acquisitions and Records
The Real Property Acquisitions and Records group administers Program Open Space Stateside acquisition (fee simple and conservation easement) and assists with the collection, development and management or real property record data sets for all acquisitions and lands owned by the department.

Program Open Space Stateside
Program Open Space Stateside preserves natural areas for public recreation and watershed and wildlife protection across Maryland through the purchase of fee-simple and easement acquisitions. Fee simple purchases are managed by the department primarily as State Parks, Forests, and Wildlife and Fisheries Management Areas.

Real Property Records and Data Management (Survey and GIS)
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources manages over a half million acres of public land with thousands of miles of external property boundaries. The Real Property Records and Data Management team is responsible for providing technical assistance for both pre- and post-acquisition surveys and GIS tasks. This team manages the procurement of surveys for current Program Open Space Stateside acquisitions (fee simple and conservation easement) and for historical lands. This team assists department units with boundary recovery and maintains department land records through its Enterprise GIS asset inventory and management system.
