Letha Grimes | Natural Resources Biologist, Maryland Department of Natural ResourcesWomen in the Outdoors Letha has worked with the Department of Natural Resources, Fishing and Boating Services for 37 years. The first half of her career was working the Rivers and Reservoirs Program, conducting fish management work, mostly working with landlocked striped bass in Liberty and Piney Run reservoirs. Currently, Letha provides outreach and angler education utilizing a Mobile First Catch Fishing Center, a fishing trailer courtesy of Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation. Letha also provides fish/stream ecology for the Envirothon and Master Naturalist programs. She is also co-coordinator of The Maryland Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program. BOW offers hunting, shooting, fishing and other outdoor skill workshops to nearly 200 women each year. BOW is celebrating 30 years this year and Letha has been a part of it since the beginning in 1995. |
