MWDI Volunteer Hours Top 30,000!
MWDI has numerous Volunteer opportunities which can be
tailored to fit anyone’s schedule, regional preferences & logistics, time
commitment desired, level of responsibility or seasonal desires.
Numerous MWDI sites can accommodate more nest monitors
for weekday, late afternoon or weekend outings....hiking or boat-oriented in
Prince George's, Kent, Dorchester and the lower shore counties. Times are
flexible and tailored to your schedule year round.
This is also a great opportunity to bring the kids along to learn about Wood
Ducks and conservation and enjoy a "Total Wetland Experience." They really
like the mud!
See the
Education section for news on more youth involvement. Nest monitoring &
inspection opportunities abound.
MWDI now has more than 120 sites involving over 1,800 boxes this year. (up
from 20 in 2004). The project continues to grow and
we need all the volunteers we can muster. Shame on us if we can’t find a nest monitoring
niche for you!
We are jealous of our time and are certainly aware that
your time is also precious. Our field work is planned to be focused and
efficient for these reasons. Nest inspections & monitoring can be handled with
the utmost flexibility. Projects may involve only a few boxes or several,
perhaps 30-45 minutes twice a year or up to two days annually, whatever fits.
Walk, canoe, boat as you please.
We can create the Total Wetland Experience for you!!
