| Size:
2¾ - 4 in; Record - 4⅜ in. | Appearance:- Small salamander with rounded tail that lacks a keel.
- Back is striped with a line of darker spots down the middle that are often chevron shaped.

- Under rocks, logs in and near small streams on the Allegheny Plateau.
- Sometimes found in sandstone cliff crevices far from water.
