Camping and Glamping

NOTICE:
The Hemlock camping loop has been eliminated in order to accommodate a new wastewater treatment plant for the park. The White Oak camping loop (campsites #1-20 and #34-39) is now pet-friendly.

New Germany’s campground offers a shaded, safe, peaceful setting for a family camping trip. A central bathhouse provides restrooms and hot showers, and purified water is available at several locations. Some sites can accommodate motorhomes, however only one site offers electric hook-ups (campsite #34). An RV dump station is also available.

The White Oak Loop is open year-round with a heated bathhouse. The Pines Loop is open April 1 - October 31.

Campsites #3 and #31 are glamping sites, featuring a 10'x12' glamping tent on on 10'x16' wood platform. The canvas tent is furnished with a queen-size bed, nightstand, and two adirondack chairs. Linens and pillows are not provided. There is space for one additional small tent on the camping pad. Glamping sites can accommodate up to 4 people per site.

Site 40 features the Alpine Lodge, a three-sided Adirondack-style shelter, available as a campsite for 10 people.

WINTER ALERT:
During winter months, campsites and driveways are not plowed and may be covered in snow and ice. If you are camping in the winter, please be prepared to park in the day-use area and walk to your campsite. Vehicles parked in the day-use area must have an overnight vehicle permit (available at the ranger station).

Advance reservations are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Reservations can be made by calling 1-888-432-CAMP or by visiting parkreservations.maryland.gov.
