What Does the FCA Require?
Main_Content
If you are applying for a subdivision, grading permit, or sediment control plan on a tract of 40,000 square feet or more, the Forest Conservation Act requires you to submit the following:
1. Forest Stand Delineation (FSD)
An FSD identifies existing forest cover and environmental features on the proposed development site. The FSD submission includes:
- A completed application
- A map of the site
- A summary of field data collected from the property
2. Forest Conservation Plan (FCP)
The FCP outlines how forested and environmentally sensitive areas will be protected during and after development. It includes:
- A map and narrative describing the project’s limits of disturbance
- A worksheet and application form
- Calculations of forest area cleared, retained, or replanted
- A plan for the long-term maintenance and protection of these areas
Important:
All tree plantings must be supported by a 2-Year Maintenance Agreement to ensure survival and ongoing care.
