Tackle Loaner Program

About the Tackle Loaner Program

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources offers free fishing gear for loan at various locations throughout the state. Whether you're an individual, a family, or part of a group, you may be eligible to borrow equipment—availability varies by site.

This no-cost program is designed to help new anglers and their families build confidence and skills while enjoying Maryland’s great outdoors. It’s perfect for anyone camping, hiking, or spending time in parks who wants to give fishing a try. The goal is to make recreational fishing simple and accessible for everyone.
