Quest Information

Visit one of the five Open Greenhouse Sale Days this summer hosted by Chesapeake Natives, Inc. at Rosaryville State Park – Mount Airy to complete this Bonus Quest and learn how you can help native pollinators by “Planting with Purpose!”

Native plants are an important part of our environment! They provide food and shelter for wildlife, and support pollinators. Adding native plants to your yard or garden will help birds, butterflies, bees, and more by providing diverse habitat and food sources. Visit the plant sale to learn more about the plants that are native to Maryland, and to see examples of native plant gardening!

​Complete this Park Quest by attending one of the following Open Greenhouse Sale Days.

  • Sunday, June 28th, 2020
  • Sunday, July 26th, 2020
  • Sunday, August 30th, 2020
  • Sunday, September 27th, 2020

The Open Greenhouse Sales run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring with you a printed copy of the Native Plant Scavenger Hunt and a writing utensil to complete the quest! When finished, show your completed scavenger hunt to one of the Chesapeake Natives staff members or volunteers to get your stamp!

Rosaryville State Park

Rosaryville State Park is a 982 acre day-use park with miles of trails for hiking, biking and equestrians. The park is also the location of the historic Mount Airy Mansion. Parties, great and small, weddings, births, and visits from seven Presidents have left their mark, lending a wonderful feeling of expectancy to this lovely old home.

Directions

The entrance to Mount Airy is located at 9640 Rosaryville Road in Upper Marlboro, MD 20735, just off of Crane Highway (HWY 301). Follow the entrance road past the mansion to the greenhouse for parking. Please note, dogs are not permitted in this area of the park.
