How to Create Adaptive Programs

Marty Forlenza is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities through outdoor recreation. She is a licensed physical therapist who specializes in spinal cord injury, neurologic disorders, amputee, and trauma rehabilitation. She has over 25 years of experience working with therapeutic recreation and sports, including adaptive water skiing and scuba diving. She was a certified adaptive ski instructor for Baltimore Adaptive Recreation and Sports. She is a BICP certified mountain bike ride leader and a BICP certified adaptive mountain bike coach. Alongside her husband, she coordinates the adaptive mountain biking programs for Friends of Patapsco Valley State Park and volunteers with Montgomery Parks on their programs. She is one of the adaptive liaisons for MORE, providing training and education for its members and advising on the accessibility of trails and programs to include individuals with disabilities.
