Women in the Outdoors

Teresa Rodriguez is the Wildlife Management Branch Chief at the Department of Energy & Environment in Washington, DC. Her responsibilities include leading a team of wildlife research biologists and biologist educators providing programs at the Aquatic Resources Education Center (AREC). Before coming to DOEE, Teresa worked for several national and regional non-profit organizations, including the National Environmental Education Foundation, American Sportfishing Association, and National Recreation and Park Association, to develop and deliver programs and resources to expand outdoor and environmental education, recreation, and conservation. She is rarely far from a river, lake, or stream, participating in her favorite activity, fishing. She loves introducing others to the sport and especially enjoys connecting women and families to the outdoors through fishing. She has taught thousands of people to fish by working with organizations such as L.L. Bean, Orvis, Trout Unlimited, the National Fishing in Schools Program, Chesapeake Women Anglers, Casting for Recovery, and Project Healing Waters.
