Frostburg State University, Maryland’s westernmost comprehensive university, has created the Frostburg Outdoor Recreation Economy Institute (FOREI) to propel the Tri-State area’s outdoor recreation industry by providing research, education, and training programs for workers, business owners, and policymakers. Our community partnership model cultivates a skilled workforce, fosters innovation, and promotes sustainable practices to ensure a thriving future for all. FOREI aims to improve our region’s quality of life by growing our outdoor recreation ecosystem in a way that impacts our community’s health and prosperity by retaining residents and attracting visitors to live, work, and play in the Tri-State area.
