We want to provide you with the latest information learned as we collect and analyze the satellite data for the marked pintails. We will post information weekly, or as the data become available. These maps will show current locations for all of the marked pintails captured in North Carolina, as well as those originating in Maryland and other states. Narratives describe where the birds are located and other general information. Check back often to travel with the pintails through the seasons.

No signal from 44687, suspected dead the previous week.
Also heard from the 44683, but only received a couple of signals and there was very little change in her activity code. Guess she could be nesting; we'll have to just wait and see.LOCATION MAP

Bird 44683 from NC ( sitting in northern Ontario near James Bay) was ok through the 24th.
Bird 44687 from NC (sitting in southern Province of Quebec) - was ok through the 23rd.
However, neither bird has been heard from since.LOCATION MAP

One of the birds from NC has also decided she didn't like it out west and has moved
from western MB back to northern ON. Looks like we also lost 2 from NC last week -
(44678 and 44679); one was sitting in northern DE and the other was in southern PQ. Their signals were questionable last week, but I did not hear from either one this week.
