MBSS Newsletter:
An Eye on Maryland Streams

March 1999, Volume 6, Number 1

A PERIODIC NEWSLETTER ON THE MARYLAND BIOLOGICAL STREAM SURVEY PUBLISHED BY THE MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES MONITORING AND NON-TIDAL ASSESSMENT DIVISION, AND PRIMARILY FUNDED BY THE MARYLAND ENVIRONMENTAL TRUST FUND

This Edition's Feature Articles

Results of the MBSS are being used extensively to characterize the overall health of Maryland's stream ecosystems, but the MBSS can be used to shed light on the status of individual species as well.   In this issue, we continue our series of articles on individual basins, but also feature articles on brook trout and American eel, two Maryland natives that were once dominant players in the stream food webs of our state.
