Adopt-A-Trail/Trail Monitor
Volunteers are needed on a regular basis to walk the trails and look for problem areas that need attention, assist with the correction of these problems, and pick up litter that gathers around the trails.
Volunteer Ranger
Assist the park rangers with day to day operations, special events, park maintenance and programs. Minimum of 100 hours per year required for this program. Training and a uniform are provided.
Volunteer Naturalist
Assist the park naturalist with the presentation of interpretive programs to park visitors, school groups and other organizations.
Gardener
Help maintain the flower gardens and perform other gardening tasks that are necessary during the course of the year.
Maintenance Assistant
Assist the maintenance crew and the park rangers with daily maintenance projects.
Camp Host
In return for free camping, volunteers stay in the campground and assist the campers with their questions, keep the campgrounds neat and assist the park personnel.
Smallwood Retreat House Docent
Volunteers are trained as docents to give guided, informative tours of the Smallwood Retreat House. Training includes historical information about the museum and General William Smallwood, presentation and interpretive skills. Minimum of four hours per month April through October is required.
