Schaeffer Farm Hunting Area

The Schaeffer Farm hunting area is being managed from the Gwynnbrook Wildlife office. For permits, maps and further information please call 410-356-9272.



The Schaeffer Farm Tract is located in Seneca Creek State Park, and is bordered by Schaeffer and Black Rock Roads and Little Seneca & Seneca Creek.

The Shaeffer Farm Tract is only open during the firearms season, November 24-December 8, 2018 and January 4-5, 2019.  

Hunting Type

Shotgun only.


A DNR Managed Hunt Permit is required for this area and can be obtained online or through license vendors. Information concerning the permit is in the hunting guide as well as online. A Gwynnbrook Seasonal Permit is also needed and can be obtained contacting the Gwynnbrook Wildlife office.

  • Reservations for the opening day of deer shotgun season are by lottery.
  • Only one application may be submitted per individual for each lottery.
  • Hunters may submit as a group. The maximum group size is three (3). The applications must be stapled together (treated as a single application).
  • Any remaining reservations will be available through regular reservation procedures.
  • Return application to the Gwynbrook Wildlife Office.
