The Elk River Camping Area offers over 200 campsites, 7 mini camper cabins, 8 rustic cabins, a youth group camping area, a camp store, playgrounds, and a Nature Center that has fun weekend activities for families during the summer and early fall season. The park store will be staffed on weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Firewood will still be sold.
General Rules and Important information:
All campsites are equipped with a fire ring with grill on top, picnic table, and a lantern post. Each camping loop has a central bathhouse with hot running water for showers.
New Generator Policy Effective January 1, 2017 The operation of generators is prohibited during the established quiet hours (10 p.m. to 7 a.m.).
At times outside of quiet hours, all aspects of their operation must conform to standards designed to prevent disturbing other visitors and to preserve the peace and tranquility of the park environment, to include COMAR 08.07.06.20(F). Directions: Follow Route 272 South, 1/4 mile past Park Headquarters, turn left onto Campground Road, into the Elk River Area, across from the North East Beach entrance.

Visitors must pay the standard day-use charge and must exit the campground by 10 p.m.
Learn more about the natural and cultural history of Elk Neck by visiting the park's Nature Center (open hours vary, call the park for details).
