Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail Regulations

  • Follow the rules of the road. Bikers yield to pedestrians and horseback riders.
  • All users should stay on the right of the trail and avoid traveling side-by-side. Please limit your speed to 15 mph or less in order to minimize conflict with other trails users.
  • To protect the safety of your pet, other visitors and park wildlife, all pets must be on a leash.
  • To help determine where you are on the trail, look for the trail mile markers painted in yellow, red and black - the colors of the state flag. The markers number the Maryland trail miles from 1 through 19 as you travel north along the trail.
  • Children under 16 are required to wear a helmet when riding a bike. Helmet use is strongly recommended for all bikers.
  • Maryland State Parks are trash-free. Pack out what you pack in. Support our community and the environment by reducing waste and recycling.
  • Alcohol is not permitted.

Parking Overnight

Trail users are welcome to continue their journey north into Pennsylvania by traveling on the York County Heritage Rail Trail. If you want to leave a vehicle in the Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail parking areas overnight to travel out of state, contact the park at least two weeks in advance to obtain approval. Phone: 410-592-2897
