Programs and Activities

  • Interpretive Programs
    Elk Neck State Park offers family themed interpretive programs. Join Park Rangers on nature hikes, talks, nature crafts, demonstrations, children's programs, campfire programs and special events. Group programs are available upon request throughout the year and can be tailored to accommodate group needs.

  • ​​​​Nature Center
    The Nature Center offers activities to educate visitors about natural and cultural resources and experience the exciting features of the outdoor environment. The nature center has open hours for visitors to explore the building and its many exhibits. Call Elk Neck at 410-287-5333 to learn more about Nature Center hours.

  • Junior Rangers
    Junior Rangers is a fun way for youth ages 7-14 to connect to the natural world around them. Each session of the program will include recreational opportunities and hands-on environmental education activities like hiking, games, crafts and more!

  • Park Pals
    The Junior Rangers Park Pals program is a fun way for kids ages 3-6 to connect to the natural world around them through hands-on environmental education, recreational opportunities, crafts and a conservation project. This program is aimed at getting your child to the outdoors and prepared for the Maryland Junior Ranger program.
