Introduction To Quest
One of the defining features of a State Park is its trees. Come visit the Hollofield Area of Patapsco Valley State Park and learn why trees are so important for us and the animals that are around the park. You will look for clues on the different trees to identify what type they are throughout the year. After the quest, fill out the word search to find out the combination for your stamp.
The Quest begins at the Hollofield parking lot area of Patapsco Valley State Park. The quest is available Monday through Sunday. However, during the summer months the park fills to capacity on weekends. Plan accordingly.
Patapsco Valley State Park, one of Maryland’s first state parks, extends along 32 miles of the Patapsco River, encompassing 16,043 acres and eight developed recreational areas. Recreational opportunities include hiking, fishing, camping, canoeing, and horseback and mountain bike trails, as well as picnicking for individuals or large groups in the park’s many popular pavilions and established picnic areas. With over 200 miles of trail, 70 miles that are maintained, Patapsco is a premiere destination for many. Patapsco has a rich history and its natural, historical, recreational and educational resources have been enjoyed by Native Americans, explorers, settlers and present-day citizens.
