Sandy Point State Park Quest - Rangers Guide to Survival

Sandy Point Shoal LighthousePark Quest teams will pick up a packet at Park Headquarters and explore the light house woods area of Sandy Point and learn basis skills one needs for surviving in the outdoors.

Quest Information

Pick up Park Quest packet at Park Headquarters - open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Trails can be slippery after heavy rains. Please remember to bring insect repellent, sunblock and water. Wear comfortable boots or shoes for hiking, and wear long pants and long-sleeve shirts to protect yourself from ticks. If the headquarters office is closed, park quest instructions can be found in a box outside the door. The lock combination for the box is 2018

Teams are encouraged to complete this quest during the week. Weekends are extremely busy at Sandy Point and the park closes often due to filling to capacity. The contact station is open 7 a.m. to an hour before closing (which is sunset dependent). We recommend downloading a QR reader onto the user's phone, if possible, before you begin your quest.
