No experience is necessary and 4-hour lesson packages are available for novice paddlers

In addition to half day and all day rentals, sunset guided paddles along the Janes Island Water Trail are available daily from Janes Island State Park.

Tangier Sound Outfitters is a Dagger kayak dealer, selling all makes and models with free demonstrations available.

Camping Adventures:
Tangier Sound Outfitters offers back country camping at new paddle-in campsites on newly constructed tent platforms at Janes Island State Park. Camping permits must be applied for in advance from Tangier Sound or Janes Island State Park. Campers using back country paddle-in sites should understand "Leave No Trace" procedures. Leave No Trace training is available for groups or individuals through Tangier Sound Outfitters.

We also offer camping on many private lands and islands where you are free to explore virtually untouched areas. Permits are not required for these trips, but in most cases must be guided.
