Natural Features Hardwood forests with understory of rhododendron and mountain laurel
Wildlife includes deer, wild turkey and black bear
Historic/Cultural Features Site of CCC camp from 1936 to 1939. Foundations of the camp are located in the designated camping group site.
Camping Potomac-Garrett State Forest offers 36 primitive campsites
Swallow Falls State Park offers 65 improved campsites with bathhouses. (Swallow Falls campground closed from December 15 through April 15.)
Other Points of Interest Cranesville Swamp, a subarctic swamp with a boardwalk, is a Nature Conservancy project. (Not accessible by ORVs.)
