Drawing on over 50 years of experience in education and the environment, we molded our love of nature into Elk Ridge NatureWorks, LLC. Our mission is to help preserve and enhance the biodiversity of the Allegheny Plateau. We propagate native plants from local seed, construct habitat boxes, provide nature programs and maintain a demonstration wildlife habitat garden. Explore nature with us during an ecotour, outdoor class or nature program.

Explore Nature: Discover the biological riches of the Savage River State Forest during one of our nature activites.
EcoTours
Explore nature as you hike, cross-country ski or snow-shoe. Small group size allows us to move softly through the forest with minimal impact.
Outdoor Classes
Focused on field identification skills and various nature topics, classes are limited to small groups. Instruction is personalized and hands-on.
Nature Programs
Presentations on topics ranging from bats to wildflowers are available for larger groups such as an organization, business or school.
Create Habitat: Experience the joys of conservation landscaping - a wildlife garden filled with bees, birds, butterflies and beautiful plants.
Native Plants
We propagate native plants from seed collected on the Allegheny Plateau. Our native plants are available for purchase at our nursery and native plants events throughout the mid-Atlantic.
Habitat Boxes
Our hand-crafted bat boxes are certified as "bat friendly" by Bat Conservation International. Our solitary bee boxes are built according to guidelines from The Xerces Society.
Wildlife Habitat Garden
Each year we host several open house events at our native plant nursery in Garrett County. Tour our garden to see a variety of conservation landscaping and wildlife habitat practices you can use to enhance biodiversity.
