A Message From the Governor of the State of Maryland

Maryland State Governor Martin O'MalleyGreetings Maryland Hunters:

Maryland is blessed with natural resources to rival those of any other state in the Union. The quality and diversity of our outdoor experiences are enjoyed and cherished by all of our citizens.

Days afield offer spiritual renewal that we can all count among our blessings. The opportunity to participate in Maryland’s abundant and storied hunting heritage is a cherished tradition, passed down through generations from the days of our colonial ancestors.

The natural landscapes along the Chesapeake Bay and the rivers that feed and nourish it are vital to the well-being of Maryland’s rich and varied wildlife populations and habitats, as are our uplands, forests, wetlands and streams. Maintaining and enhancing our State’s beautifully lush and diverse landscapes is vital to the quality outdoor experiences that our citizens and visitors have come to expect, relish and deserve.

We are proud to serve and work with our hunters and trappers as stewards and keepers of the land. We are grateful to each of you for your commitment to the land and water we share and love.

I wish you the very best in all your outdoor endeavors, and thank you for your invaluable contributions to our State and our natural diversity.

Martin O’Malley
Governor
