Communications Intern
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources invites students or recent college
graduates to apply for an internship with its Office of Communications. This is
an exciting opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in writing,
communications, public relations, public policy and learn more about Maryland’s
natural resources.
The communications intern will work closely with the Director of Communications
and the Senior Communications Manager in writing, proofing, and editing magazine
articles, press releases and website text; organizing and staffing press and
outreach events; and graphic design projects. Interns will also assist in
directing media and citizen inquiries received by phone or email, updating press
lists and calendars, and completing other administrative duties as assigned.
The Office of Communications has a vital role in supporting the Department of
Natural Resources as it preserves, protects, enhances and restores Maryland's
natural resources for the wise use and enjoyment of all citizens. This is an
excellent position for those pursuing a career in communications, marketing or
PR and/or and interest in Maryland’s public lands, waterways and wildlife.
This is an unpaid position, for credit only. Experience in graphic design and
in-design is a plus. Applicants must be able to work at least 24 hours a week

Creative Services/Graphic Design Intern
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources invites students or recent college
graduates to apply for an internship with its Office of Communications. This is
an exciting opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in marketing,
design and learn more about Maryland’s natural resources.
The Creative Services/Graphic Design intern will work closely with the Director
of Communications and the Graphics Manager laying out the Natural Resources
Magazine, designing marketing and promotional materials, running promotional
events and other duties as assigned.
The Office of Communications has a vital role in supporting the Department of
Natural Resources as it preserves, protects, enhances and restores Maryland's
natural resources for the wise use and enjoyment of all citizens. This is an
excellent position for those pursuing a career in graphic design, marketing

Online Services/E-Gov Intern
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources invites students or recent college
graduates to apply for an internship with its Office of Communications. This is
an exciting opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in the field of
online services, internet marketing, E-Government while learning more about
Maryland’s natural resources.
Online Services/E-Gov Intern will work closely with the Director of
Communications and the eGov and Online Services Manager updating website
content, creating and writing email newsletters, working on the on-line stores
and other duties as assigned.
