Help plant and care for trees in your community to restore and protect the natural environment where you live, work, and play.
Volunteer tree projects are fun and rewarding! The few hours we spend improving our community forests can make our neighborhoods better places to live not only for ourselves, but for generations to come. Your neighborhood, school, business or corporation, club or organization, can work with your local Department of Natural Resources Forester planting native trees on public land in your community.
TREES
- provide wildlife habitat
- clean the air and lower temperatures
- reduce noise
- add beauty
- help reduce soil erosion
- buffer our waterways.
- increase the value of our homes and neighborhoods
- help us relax and inspire our creativity
- The proper way to plant a tree.
Forests are the most beneficial land use available for helping to restore and maintain the water quality of the Chesapeake Bay. Come join us! Working together, we will assure the future health and vitality of Maryland's community forests and the Chesapeake Bay well into the 21st century!
The Maryland Urban and Community Forest Committee's (MUCFC) Guide to Community Forest Assistance Programs will help you identify and contact tree planting and conservation programs that may fit your needs.
